2022 Great Barrier Reef Ocean Swim Series Wrap Up
That’s a wrap for the 2022 Great Barrier Reef Ocean Swim Series. This past weekend ‘The Challenge’ and ‘Swim the Reef’ swims were held in absolutely perfect conditions on the reef! With little to no wind, the crystal clear waters were enjoyed by all competitors throughout the day.
Event ambassador, Leisel Jones OAM, competed in the 1km fun swim and was delighted to get the opportunity to do so, stating “it was an amazing experience, the Great Barrier Reef swim was so spectacular! I did the 1km swim and I loved it, being surrounded by the coral, fish and sunshine was next level!”
Gareth Sykes, event director was very pleased with the day, and the series overall, he said: “I’m glad more people got to experience such a great day…we couldn’t have got better weather over the weekend and I think all swimmers and even our staff were ecstatic with how enjoyable the swim series was!”
All swimmers were very happy with how the event was run with multiple comments about the smoothness and quality of the day’s arrangements!
Special mention to our men’s winner Jayden Hadler, 2012 Australian Olympic Team Member, and women’s winner Aida Tuciute! 🐠🏊🏼♂️
Stay tuned for next year’s dates and details as we look to build on our successful 2022 series!
